What is Cremation?
Cremation is the process of reducing a body by exposing it to intense
heat. Through high heat and evaporation the body is reduced to mineral
form. What is left is known as "Ashes"; however the proper term
for this is "Cremains". The cremains are then crushed into a
semi-powdered form.

Why Cremation?
Some people choose not to bury their pets as they may live in a unit or
are renting, others simply find our range of vessels a beautiful way to
keep the affection of their treasured family pet remembered forever.
It is also the most environmentally friendly means of dealing with a deceased
pet, providing you the owner with an eternal memento of your lives together
which can help with the grieving process.

Will I get my pets ashes
back?
Yes, most definitely.
As pet owners we understand how devoted people are to their pets and how
important it is to have the peace of mind of knowing that your special
family member has been treated respectfully throughout the process. All
pets received by Petrest are identified and rechecked throughout each
step of the cremation process, resulting in the guaranteed return of your
pet's cremains.

What is the
process?
Once your pet leaves you, we ensure that
he or she is conveyed to our premises with the utmost of dignity in our
specially modified vehicles. Upon departure your pet is given a unique
identity badge, which is used to confirm the identity of your pet throughout
our process.
Once at Petrest your pet is individually cremated as soon as possible,
we rarely hold pets for more than a day unless we are awaiting a specific
request from you the client.
With cremation complete (duration between 1-2 hours) the ash is processed
and transferred to the vessel requested.
We then make arrangements to return the cremains either to your Vet or
to your home whichever has been agreed.

How
long does it take?
Your pet’s ashes will be returned
to you within 2-4 working days.
If an alternative cremation service offers a delayed service of over 4
days, we recommend you question why?

Where are you located?
We are located in Sydney’s northern beaches town of Mona Vale. An
interesting fact is that Petrest are the only Sydney wide cremation service
actually located within the Sydney metropolitan area.
Unlike some, we operate our own cremator, which was designed and manufactured
by one of the countries leading human cremator manufacturers. Offering
the highest possible state of the art equipment, which obviously complies
with current NSW strict EPA codes.

"Thank
you for cremating our family cat Mindy. She was 18 3/4 years old &
a much loved member of our family. We were very pleased with the lovely
polished timber & gold casket. The name tag & lavender was a lovely
touch. Thank you."
Robyn
& Keith Carroll, Grays Point.
"I
would like to say thank you so much and appreciate how you have succeeded
in providing such a tasteful service for us mere mortals who have our
hearts broken by these wonderful creatures that give us so much pleasure.
Last week has been and still is so painful and at least I found some comfort
due to the service you offer."
Sandra.
"I
wish to thank you and your staff so much for your sincere efforts following
the tragic death of our pet Schnauzer last Thursday. Due to the cooperation
and efforts by your staff we were able to handle our loss with a lot less
difficulty than would otherwise have been the case."
H.
Soloman.
"Thank
you for your kindness in picking up Tabby at night and also for returning
his ashes so quickly. We did appreciate it."
Glenys
Norrie, Turramurra.
"I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for how you handled
the cremation of my Scottie. The box was lovely and every touch such as
the sprig of lavender and the name on the box was highly appreciated.
If only I could deal with people with such sensibility in my daily business
life, it would be a lot easier. Thank you again for everything."
Carline
Bouilhet, Paddington.
"Thank
you for your prompt and compassionate delivery of our eldest cat's (Honey)

after we have scattered his ashes."
